BlueMeshBeacon™ — Public Registry & Numbering

Part of the LivingBlueMesh™ — Love in action, proven through impact and authenticity.

What is a BlueMeshBeacon?

A BlueMeshBeacon™ is a fixed node that anchors the LivingBlueMesh™. Beacons help verify presence and connect volunteer sessions so impact can be measured fairly and consistently.

This page covers public naming & numbering only. Technical security and firmware details are internal.

Naming & Numbering (like a license plate)

Each beacon carries a simple, human-readable label (like a license plate) for inventory and support. The label does not reveal personal information and is separate from the secure identifiers used internally.

FieldExampleMeaning
Product Name BlueMeshBeacon™ Physical hardware node
Human Label BMB-CORE-01 or BMB-SOUTH-07 or 777B444-2222 Sticker/admin label used for field support
Zone Code CORE, NORTH, SOUTH, EAST, WEST Area of deployment
Node Number 01, 02, … Sequential ID inside a zone

Recommended pattern: BMB-[ZONE]-[NN] (e.g., BMB-CORE-01).

You’re free to use a license-plate style label (e.g., 777B444-2222) if you prefer — just record it in your inventory.

Sticker & QR (what’s printed)

  • Product name: BlueMeshBeacon™
  • Human label (license-plate): BMB-CORE-01
  • Support URL or QR to this page: vcpf.org/beacons (example)
  • Optional hotline/email for lost/found

QR codes on public stickers should link to info/support pages only — never to sensitive provisioning data.

Privacy by Design

Beacons operate like license plates — simple labels in the open — while sensitive identifiers remain private. Internally, devices use short, rotating broadcast IDs so long-term tracking is thwarted. No personal information is stored on beacons.

Presence is verified in the SyncSync app and secured in Foundation systems. If a device is lost or tampered with, it can be revoked and replaced without exposing personal data.

Lawful Requests & Emergency Cooperation

We protect volunteers by default. If legitimate, verifiable legal process is presented by authorities, the Foundation will cooperate in accordance with the law and internal policy. We only disclose data we actually hold, after formal review and approval, and we log every disclosure.

Beacons themselves hold no personal data. Sensitive records live server-side and are protected.

Lost or Found a Beacon?

If you locate a BlueMeshBeacon, please report the label (e.g., BMB-CORE-01) to our team so we can verify status. Do not attempt to open or reprogram devices.
